Frequently asked questions

Frequently asked questions.

Clear answers about in-home care, Medicaid and insurance, mental health visits, scheduling, and our caregivers. If you don't see what you're looking for, our team is one call away at (713) 988-8668.

Getting started

How do I get started with home care?

Getting started is simple — call us at (713) 988-8668 or send a request through our contact page. We'll talk through your loved one's needs, confirm insurance, and schedule a free in-home assessment. From there, our clinical team builds a personalized care plan and matches you with the right caregiver.

How quickly can care begin?

For private pay and most insurance situations, care can often begin within a few days of your free assessment — sometimes right away. If your plan still needs approval, we can frequently start interim support so your loved one isn't left waiting. Just call us and we'll move as quickly as your situation allows.

Do you offer a free assessment?

Yes. Every new client starts with a free, no-obligation in-home assessment. During the visit we review daily living needs, health conditions, safety, and family preferences, then design a personal care plan around them. There's no cost and no commitment to schedule one — contact us to set it up.

What areas do you serve?

We provide in-home care throughout Greater Houston, including Harris and Fort Bend counties. Our virtual mental health services reach even further, with telehealth visits available across Arizona, Colorado, Texas, and Washington. If you're unsure whether you're in our service area, just call (713) 988-8668.

Insurance & cost

Does Medicaid pay for in-home care in Texas?

Yes. Qualifying Texans can receive in-home personal care through Traditional Medicaid and managed-care plans, often at little or no out-of-pocket cost. We help families confirm eligibility and handle the paperwork from start to finish at no charge. See our insurance and Medicaid guide for details on coverage.

What insurance plans do you accept?

We accept Molina, Traditional Medicaid, Community Health Choice, UnitedHealthcare, Aetna, Cigna, and Amerigroup, along with private pay. Our team verifies your benefits before care begins so there are no surprises. If you don't see your plan listed, check our insurance page or call us — coverage changes often and we're happy to check.

What if I don't have insurance?

You can still receive care through private pay, with transparent rates and flexible scheduling to fit your budget. We can also help you explore whether you qualify for Medicaid or a managed-care plan that would cover services — see our insurance options. Reach out and we'll walk you through every option available to you.

Caregivers & care

Are your caregivers background-checked?

Absolutely. Every caregiver is thoroughly background-checked, drug-screened, insured, and continuously trained before entering a client's home. Our care plans are also designed and supervised by Dr. Amaette Okon's clinical team, so support stays consistent and accountable. Your family's safety and trust come first.

Can I get care 24 hours a day?

Yes. We offer around-the-clock support, including 24-hour and live-in care, so your loved one is never alone day or night. Schedules are tailored to real life, whether you need a few hours each day or continuous coverage. Call us to discuss a schedule that fits your family.

What if the caregiver isn't the right fit?

The right match matters, and we want every client to feel comfortable. If a caregiver isn't the right fit, just let us know and we'll work with you to find a better one — no awkward conversations required. Our supervising team checks in regularly to make sure care stays a good match as needs change.

Mental health

What mental health services do you offer?

Led by Dr. Amaette Okon, DNP, PMHNP-BC, FNP, our mental health services include psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and ongoing treatment for conditions such as anxiety, depression, and more. Because Dr. Okon is dual-certified, we can coordinate physical and mental health care together. Visit our mental health page to learn more.

Are mental health visits virtual?

Yes. Our mental health visits are offered virtually by telehealth, making care convenient and private from the comfort of home. Virtual visits are available across Arizona, Colorado, Texas, and Washington. All you need is a phone, tablet, or computer with an internet connection.

Is mental health care covered by insurance?

In many cases, yes. We work with a range of insurance plans, and private pay is also available for mental health visits. Coverage depends on your specific plan and benefits, so we'll verify everything before your first appointment. Contact us and we'll confirm exactly what your plan covers.
